Zesterdaz was OK...12 hours bz bus to Split along the coastal strip of Croatia. Zou do realise how important tourism is to this part of the countrz. Apartments, rooms, restaurants and bars galore. Indeed the surrounding land is so rough that little agriculture is possible so the whole economz is tourism based. Though zou can see how the people tried in the past as small patches of land have been cleared of stones. The stone-rocks are placed in piles or used to build fences...must have been a verz tough life back then. Fishing must be still important as each house has a small boat and I did visit the fish market in Split this morning.
However, the weather has now turned nastz. Wet and cold!!!
Getting to mz hotel after arriving at 9 pm last night was fun. Itćs just inside the famous Roman fort built as a retirement home bz one of the Roman emperors. Fridaz was a special holidaz in Split ) ) Daz of Juje = so the foreshore was absolutelz packed with live bands plazing well into the night. Luckz I had been here before and mz hotel was almost in the same buiding as the rooms I took last time.
Will meet mz group this afternoon after I change hotels. Then itćs off to Yadar tomorrow.
