The internet is increasingly being delivered through a wireless world. Here I use both a wireless 3G service as well as a wireless connection across the room to my ADSL service.
However, a dichotomy struck me during my recent travels. Whenever we arrived at a new camp, there was a scramble to find and connect to an electricity supply with a tree of various adaptors. You see, these days everyone travels with appliances that require battery recharges. Almost all my travel companions had 3 such devices : camera, ipod and cell phone.
There surely must be business opportunity here to simply this process and introduce a truely wireless world.
For me, my camera has lithium replaceable batteries, I have lost my ishuffle but even it recharged only through a USB connection to a computer and as for a cell phone, I did take one to use as an alarm clock which was not used because either our tour leader provided a morning wake up service or my tent buddy had an alarm watch anyway. Simplicity in old age!!
